Apex N54 Stage 2

Apex's stage 2 calibrations offer a noticeable performance boost compared to stage 1 calibrations. While the aggressiveness is not significantly increased, the boost targets may see a slight increase. However, the most significant difference will be observed when installing N54 catless downpipes (DPs). These downpipes have a profound impact on turbo spool time, resulting in improved throttle response and a more engaging driving experience. Installing catless downpipes is an excellent N54 modification that we highly recommend.

In addition to catless downpipes, APEX also recommends considering the installation of a front-mount intercooler (FMIC) for stage 2 calibrations. While not strictly necessary, an FMIC becomes increasingly beneficial as we raise the boost levels. The N54 engine is prone to increased intake air temperatures (IATs) and heat soak under higher boost pressures. An FMIC helps mitigate these concerns by effectively cooling the intake air, preventing power loss due to heat-related issues. By reducing IATs and minimizing heat soak, the FMIC ensures consistent performance and optimal power delivery.
